It’s dangerous for us if there is a significant drop in demand in EU markets where our companies are exporting, like Italy. A decline on this particular market can affect imports.
The Minister of Economy for Serbia, Nebojsa Ciric says that a drop in demand in EU markets is a potential threat for the Serbian economy.
“It’s dangerous for us if there is a significant drop in demand in EU markets where our companies are exporting, like Italy. A decline on this particular market can affect imports’” he said at the meeting of multinational companies and SMEs from Serbia, being held in Belgrade.
Ciric stated that domestic demand has been on a downhill path for the past several years, rating that a relatively modest salary and pension growth this year cannot stimulate larger demand.
“The purchasing power of the people isn’t satisfactory. The situation is difficult, there are many unemployed people. On the other hand, the problem here and in the EU is a drop in domestic demand, said the Minister.
